In 1987 Jean François Octave produced one of my personal all-time favorite images for Willi’s, illustrating, as it does so well, the social element of wine. My fondness for his uplifting graphic design stems from the raw excitement, the joy & the community expressed therein. Long before tweeting & tech destroyed these habits, Jean François’s image captures two people radiating electric energy around a bistrot table, a bottle & two glasses. The JFO is truly one of the ‘lost images’ from our beginnings. This anniversary edition celebrates our 40th birthday.
